SAFAS is one of few foundries in the world capable of producing Francis runners, even of big size, completely cast in one piece. Thanks to a business unit expressly dedicated, SAFAS can offer:

• Patterns, according to foundry
  requirements, manufactured
  starting from the supplied drawings.
• Steel refining in the AOD that
  guarantees mechanical
  characteristics definitely higher
  than the standard ones.
• Rough machined castings with            tolerated allowances and guarantee of     the inherent quality.
• Finishing of the hydraulic profiles
  by CNC machine tools followed by
  grinding, polishing and balancing            for the runners.

• Particularly accurate dimensional            checks, even by means of 3D
  laser check systems
• Casting inspection according
  to the more widespread standards
  and to the customer’s technical
  specifications with ISO
  EN10204.3.1B certification.

The experience of more then 40 years in the hydro market allow us to produce monolithic Francis runner with a diameter up top 3.500 mm in fully grinded condition with the full respect of the dimensional prescription.
