SAFAS has a bunker for radiographic inspection, where the entire volume of the castings is being checked, the casting soundness detected and the possible defects to be subsequently assessed according to the acceptance standards mentioned by the standard taken under consideration.
The choice to use x-ray (radiography survey) or gamma ray sources (gammagraphic survey), depends on the material thickness to be examined and on the quality of the result required.

• Radiographic testing: X-rays with Seifert 200kV equipment and in the bunker for radiographic inspection by means of a 9:-5 Mev Linatron M9A Dual Energy linear accelerator;
• Gammagraphic inspection: gamma rays with 2 IR 196 sources and 1 Co 60 source
